Our new friends, New Zealand's multi-talented progresssive pop artist Kimbra, and the fabulous funktress Janelle Monáe, are co-headlining the 'The Golden Electric Tour' in AU and NZ starting May 16, 2014! We're very proud to share that their mash-up of Aretha Franklin's 'Rock Steady' and Michael Jackson's 'Wanna be Startin' Somethin,' for Live Nation's promo video, was recorded/mixed and shot at Sonic Fuel Studios!!
Lisa Roberts, Sonic Fuel's Studio Manager shared, "We're honored to have hosted the extraordinarily talented Kimbra, Janelle Monáe, director Alan Ferguson, Thom Kerr, Jessie English and all of their support teams for an unforgettable day of collaborative creativity! We look forward to their return!"
‘The Golden Electric Tour’ will reveal a stellar show of intertwined joint and individual performances – both artists will perform separate sets with their bands, as well as performing together. Kimbra is of course no stranger to successful collaborations. Her international breakthrough came when the New Zealand native recorded 'Somebody That I Used To Know' with Goyte. This will be Grammy winner Monáe's second trip to Australia, but it's her first headlining tour in Oz/Nz.
Tickets for ‘The Golden Electric Tour’ go on sale Thursday, April 17 via livenation.com.au
